To keep the wheels of their supply chains running, FMCG majors try out trains in lockdown

As pandemic-triggered shutdown forced trucks to go off-road, FMCG majors including P&G and ITC took to parcel trains to ferry critical goods, some of which saw increased demand because of Covid-19. Also for shorter distances, lower quantities and high-value freight involving close treatment, this was achieved.

A few FMCG majors, pleased by the services provided by the railways, may even continue to ride the post-COVID-19 crisis trains.
