Road Ministry asks States to pay ₹ 25,000 cr for land acquisition

In a step that could increase money in the hands of citizens on whose land highways will be constructed, the Road Ministry has asked States to speed up disbursement of some 25,000 crores, expected to be allocated to landowners.
This was part of the discussion in the meeting that Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari held on Tuesday with the Ministers of Transport and PWD from different states.
