Railways not to levy haulage charges for movement of empty containers and empty flat wagons till April 30

Indian Railways has agreed not to impose charges for the transport of empty containers and empty flat wagons from Tuesday to April 30, in an effort to encourage greater use of rail for freight transport to deal with the corona virus.

The decision was communicated to Zonal Railways in a circular issued on Monday by the Railway Board.
