Qatar Airways Cargo has delivered 56 SkyCell vaccine containers from one of the biggest vaccine manufacturers to its client, CEVA Logistics, on its planned freighter and belly-hold cargo flights. The 54-ton shipment consisting of vaccinations for pneumococcal and varicella was carried on two different flights from Brussels to Mumbai via the hub of the carrier at Doha.
The SkyCell containers were placed on Brussels’ Qatar Airways aircraft and arrived in Doha where they were processed for pharmaceuticals at the airside Climate Control Center of the airline, before connecting to Mumbai the following day on the plane. SkyCell ‘s hybrid containers were able to recharge themselves during the interim storage in the cold chamber, increasing their long independent run-time for another 72 hours after arrival in Mumbai.
