Maersk starts operations at 70-acre Inland Container Depot at Madurai

Maersk, the multinational container logistics company, announced the opening of its latest acceptance point to its customers in the hinterland of Tamil Nadu and southern India at the 70 acre Inland Container Depot (ICD) Madurai, operated by KERN.

“With an infrastructure spread over a total area of around 70 acres, the state-of – the-art ICD is one of the largest in the world and will serve as South India’s main infrastructural center. Equipped with a facility to enable quicker clearing of goods, the ICD would help minimize total shipping costs by up to 30%, while still supplying consumers with organizational accountability, “the release states.
