JNPT nervous as dedicated freight corridor runs behind schedule

A potential delay of at least two years in connecting with the game-changing and eagerly anticipated Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) is making Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), the busiest container gateway in India, jittery.

JNPT Chairman Sanjay Sethi admitted that DFC connectivity is “behind schedule,” which will adversely affect its prospects for growth. “Probably, we will have DFC operational two years from now,” he said Thursday at a media conference.
