IndiGo brings in medical cargo from Guangzhou to Kolkata

On May 16 , 2020, the Indian carrier IndiGo conducted an international cargo flight on the route Kolkata-Guangzhou-Kolkata. Flight 6E 1377 carried cargo from Guangzhou to Kolkata in ‘freighter mode’ which consisted of medical supplies such as face masks and GCR.

Ronojoy Dutta, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo said, “In this crucial period, we have successfully used our A-320 passenger aircraft in a ‘freighter mode’ to help sustain and support supply chains in and out of the country. These CarGo flights to the Gulf zone, South and Southeast Asia have previously been run, and we have now run these flights between Kolkata and Guangzhou. In this time of need IndiGo will continue to extend its support, whether through CarGo flights or repatriation flights, as directed by the government. IndiGo keeps on contributing and adapting its company to the needs of the hour”.
