Govt mulls up to ₹12,000 cr rescue plan for aviation sector after coronavirus

The Ministry of Finance is considering a proposal that includes a temporary suspension of most taxes imposed on the industry, including a deferment of taxes on aviation fuel.

India is preparing a rescue package worth as much as $1.6 billion for the aviation sector which was devastated since the coronavirus epidemic pressured countries to close borders and brought air transport to a near-halt, two government sources told Reuters.
