Coronavirus: IATA updates revenue loss forecasts for the aviation industry to $63-113 billion

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has revised its study of the financial impact on the global air transport industry of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency.

IATA now sees global passenger revenue losses of between $63 billion in 2020 (in a scenario where COVID-19 is present in current markets with over 100 cases as of 2 March) and $113 billion (in a scenario with wider COVID-19 spread). No estimates for the effect on the cargo operations are yet available.
