Coronavirus: Asia-Pacific and Middle-East airport revenues under pressure, says ACILogYcode
Airports Council International (ACI) reported that airport revenues at Asia-Pacific and Middle East airports are under tremendous pressure two months into 2020 in the amidst of the coronavirus (COVID-19) effect on China, which contributed 60 percent of the rise in air traffic in 2019.
Preliminary results for airport traffic in January 2020 show divergent output among the region’s major aviation hubs, with some airports producing positive growth leading up to the Lunar New Year. However, a contraction is expected with the outbreak of COVID-19 occurring in late January.
