Container train operators seek access to more Railway goods shedsLogYcode
Container train operators (CTOs) would like to have connections to more Indian Railways sheds of products so that they can submit and receive containerized products from more locations. Such exposure would allow more containerized freight to be transported across the rail network.
The Association of Container Train Operators (ACTO) stated in a letter to the Railway Ministry that of the 1,232 sheds of goods just 258 are container rail terminals. This ensures that CTOs can reach just around a quarter of the products sheds around the country to select and drop freight from the containers.
