China launches road-rail freight service to Nepal from Xi’anLogYcode
China Railway Xi’an Group and China Railway Container Transport have jointly launched a road-rail freight service from Xi’an, China’s northwest Shaanxi province to Kathmandu, Nepal ‘s capital.
A train carrying cargo including PVC pipes, grouting pipes, clothes, shoes, and printers left Xi’an on Friday for Xigaze in the Tibet Autonomous Region of southwest China, where the cargo will be transported to trucks and delivered to Kathmandu, Xinhua News Agency reports.
It is anticipated that the cargo service that will take eight days to complete would lessen Nepal ‘s reliance on India for its freight transport.
